Germany fighting for survival as Spain, Japan eye last 16

Germany face a fight for World Cup survival on Sunday in a must-win clash with Spain as Japan and Belgium look to seal their place in the last 16.

For the second World Cup running, Germany will suffer a humiliating exit in the group phase if they lose their Group E clash with in-form Spain at the Al Bayt Stadium.

The four-time champions were left staring down the barrel of elimination after crashing to a shock 2-1 loss to Japan in their opening fixture on Wednesday.

Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned and left the country.
Facing a one-point demand from the anti-discrimination student movement for the government's resignation, Sheikh Hasina has resigned from her position as Prime Minister. After resigning, at around 2:30 PM, a military helicopter departed with Sheikh Hasina. Her younger sister, Sheikh Rehana, was with her. It has been reported that the helicopter left for India.
Prominent Figures Join 5-Day Hunger Strike in front of White House for Ceasefire
Washington, DC - December 1, 2023 In a powerful demonstration of solidarity, actress Cynthia Nixon, alongside state legislators and activists, concluded a 5-day hunger strike outside the White House, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The hunger strike, initiated by eight activists and state legislators on Monday, gained momentum as over 20 individuals, including New York State Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani, joined in throughout the week.
House Censures Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Sparks Concern Among Muslim Community
The House of Representatives voted 234-188 to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., over her remarks related to Israel and Palestinians. Twenty-two Democrats joined Republicans in voting to formally rebuke Tlaib for her comments. The measure, sponsored by Georgia Republican Rich McCormick, accuses Tlaib of "promoting false narratives regarding the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel and for calling for the destruction of the state of Israel." It is the second attempt to formally punish Tlaib over her comments about the war.
Mamdani Introduces Bill to Stop New York State Charities from Funding Illegal Israeli Settlements
Amid an escalation in settler violence encouraged by Israel’s right-wing government, Assembly Member Zohran K. Mamdani introduced crucial legislation (A6943) to cease New York State’s complicity in violations of international human rights laws in occupied Palestine. The first of its kind in the U.S., the bill prohibits New York-based organizations with charitable status from funding illegal Israeli settlement activities that violently expel Palestinians from their generational homes and land. 
College Park City Got Dr. Fazlul Kabir as a first Muslim Mayor
Bangladeshi American Fazlul Kabir was elected the first Muslim mayor of College Park City, Maryland.  Kabir was ahead by more than 500 preliminary votes on Thursday, preventing any other candidate from catching up. Final numbers released Friday confirmed Kabir’s victory with 1,008 votes. District 1 council member Kate Kennedy won 469 votes, Mayor Pro Tem Denise Mitchell won 354, and single-issue candidate Bryan Haddad won 19.
CAIR, Coalition Condemn House GOP’s Vote to Remove Rep. Omar
